Look, Rosemary; you may be satisfied with being trapped in this miserable life for the moment, but I know if you're anything like me deep down, you cannot stand the thought of being trapped here against your will. Someone has to do it. [ Crossing his arms, tilting his head to the side. ] Don't see why it shouldn't be me. I'm used to others risking their lives for a greater cause, namely in my name, so why should anyone stop me from doing the same?

Yes. You're speaking sense. But the sensical and the safe are not going to be a way home. [ And then, an awkward shrug. ] I... I just... I didn't think it was very polite to argue on a silly little device. It felt more appropriate to do so in person.

My plan is rather simple. I'm not wandering without a purpose; I'm scoping out the area. It will be completed in steps. It's nice to see you think so little of me though.

[ Huff. He'll step inside anyway and find somewhere to sit. ] I'm not going to be venturing very far, you know. Just enough to see what's out there, what we're up against. If we get enough people, we can overtake them. And from what I've heard, there are plenty of people who are more than capable of defending themselves, chip or no chip. If we recruit enough people, we can 'storm the gates', so to speak. Find the scientists, force them at sword's point to surrender the necessary information to us...

[ He trails off, then perks up and glances over at her. ] You have tea here?

Don't take it personally, I don't think much of anyone.

People have explored the area before, you know... [Sighs.] Do what you must, dear, but make sure you're armed and prepared before you do. I might join you in a few days anyway.

[Potters about the kitchen.] Japan and that China both drink it too, so we've been able to scavenge up a manageable amount between us. [All with varying tastes but tea is tea in this situation...] You wouldn't think I would allow a household of mine to go without, would you?

I see. No, but, I suppose I haven't been thinking about tea much, just surviving is plenty. Where is it you managed to locate some? [ Leaning back against his seat. ] Goodness. Oh! Around. The stores stock things on occasion so- [Blinks and picks up the book. Ooooh...] ... Well, this will make a nice change from- Well, I can't say I've had any other proper literature to read while I've been here.

[ A small smile. It's sort of nice to be worried about. But he hides it quickly and adopts a passive look. ] Well, you can cross me off your list. I'm perfectly capable of handling myself. Yes, yes it is, though, it's given me an interesting perspective on things, at least.

So I've noticed, and hoped that no one was too angry with me for taking things, small things. But tea, I haven't seen. I suppose I was so busy looking for the bare necessities, Christ, I haven't even really found a place to stay. [ He chuckles a little, rubbing the back of his head, then glances up at her. ]

Ah yes, of course. I mean, I'm sure you know it by heart, as do I, but it's always good to have a little reminder of home, right? A cheerful one as well, I'm not sure if I would have wanted to bring Macbeth with me.

Everyone seems to do it, I'm fairly certain it's for us. And where have you been staying then? With Alfred? [Puts the book side and pours some hot water into cups.] It might be a little weak, we're trying to save it, but it's better than nothing. [Tea making activities!]

Remembering isn't quite as peaceful as reading the real thing, I've found. That one was always a favourite too, so it will do quite nicely, dear, thank you. Let me know when you want it back.
