Hello network.
[ He's got a better idea of how to use the device now, and he's actually holding it correctly. Text transcription into other languages was another skill he picked up, but being this is the quintessential English prick, Arthur sees no reason to try and communicate with those that don't speak his language. ]
Currently I'm located at-- [ A glance about. ] --err, in front of the Latimir apartments in Discedo. I have a question for those who are willing to lend their assistance: The 'monsters' that surround the area; can anyone offer anymore information regarding them? Hopefully other than those prone to shouting about rail tracers and other inanities that won't help my cause.
My second question might be more alarming, though I urge those that are listening not to be frightened by my request: I'm attempting to locate a few weapons to aid me in my... [ His eyes flit to the side. ] ...explorations.
Do not hesitate to contact me at this frequency, or to come here if you are within the area to talk. Thank you for your time.
[ Being vague on purpose? What do you mean he's being vague on purpose? ]

Date: 2011-10-25 02:29 am (UTC)[Implying Arthur is a disappointment...]
Date: 2011-10-25 02:36 am (UTC)Look, Rosemary; you may be satisfied with being trapped in this miserable life for the moment, but I know if you're anything like me deep down, you cannot stand the thought of being trapped here against your will. No Englishman or Englishwoman would so willingly succumb to their fate, and I wouldn't expect you would want to either.
[ Knocking at her door with the backs of his knuckles. ] I'm trying to find a way back home, because no one else seems to want to do so.
Date: 2011-10-25 02:41 am (UTC)Especially when they're a young looking, English man and it wasn't so long ago she was saying farewell to several of those that never came home.]
Don't get upset with me, just because I'm speaking sense- [Wait, knocking? England huffs and goes to open the door, turning the communicator off as she does so.] What?
action;
Date: 2011-10-25 02:49 am (UTC)Yes. You're speaking sense. But the sensical and the safe are not going to be a way home. [ And then, an awkward shrug. ] I... I just... I didn't think it was very polite to argue on a silly little device. It felt more appropriate to do so in person.

Date: 2011-10-25 02:55 am (UTC)... Come inside, I'll put the kettle on.

Date: 2011-10-25 03:06 am (UTC)[ Huff. He'll step inside anyway and find somewhere to sit. ] I'm not going to be venturing very far, you know. Just enough to see what's out there, what we're up against. If we get enough people, we can overtake them. And from what I've heard, there are plenty of people who are more than capable of defending themselves, chip or no chip. If we recruit enough people, we can 'storm the gates', so to speak. Find the scientists, force them at sword's point to surrender the necessary information to us...
[ He trails off, then perks up and glances over at her. ] You have tea here?

Date: 2011-10-25 02:07 pm (UTC)People have explored the area before, you know... [Sighs.] Do what you must, dear, but make sure you're armed and prepared before you do. I might join you in a few days anyway.
[Potters about the kitchen.] Japan and that China both drink it too, so we've been able to scavenge up a manageable amount between us. [All with varying tastes but tea is tea in this situation...] You wouldn't think I would allow a household of mine to go without, would you?

Date: 2011-10-26 01:27 am (UTC)I see. No, but, I suppose I haven't been thinking about tea much, just surviving is plenty. Where is it you managed to locate some? [ Leaning back against his seat. ] Goodness. Oh! I thought you should know, if you were bored at some point, I remembered this was in my pocket when I came here, ah, it's A Midsummer Night's Dream. You're welcome to read it, and keep it here if you like. I'll just lose it while I'm out and about. [ He takes it down and places it upon the table. ]

Date: 2011-10-26 02:02 am (UTC)Around. The stores stock things on occasion so- [Blinks and picks up the book. Ooooh...] ... Well, this will make a nice change from- Well, I can't say I've had any other proper literature to read while I've been here.
... Thank you, dear.

Date: 2011-10-26 04:25 am (UTC)So I've noticed, and hoped that no one was too angry with me for taking things, small things. But tea, I haven't seen. I suppose I was so busy looking for the bare necessities, Christ, I haven't even really found a place to stay. [ He chuckles a little, rubbing the back of his head, then glances up at her. ]
Ah yes, of course. I mean, I'm sure you know it by heart, as do I, but it's always good to have a little reminder of home, right? A cheerful one as well, I'm not sure if I would have wanted to bring Macbeth with me.

Date: 2011-10-28 05:31 pm (UTC)Everyone seems to do it, I'm fairly certain it's for us. And where have you been staying then? With Alfred? [Puts the book side and pours some hot water into cups.] It might be a little weak, we're trying to save it, but it's better than nothing. [Tea making activities!]
Remembering isn't quite as peaceful as reading the real thing, I've found. That one was always a favourite too, so it will do quite nicely, dear, thank you. Let me know when you want it back.

Date: 2011-10-31 09:52 pm (UTC)otherwise no one would ever trust him]That's good to hear. Oh, I-- [ He looks embarrassed a second, and quickly: ] Around. [ He takes the tea and smiles at her. ] Thank you.
Perhaps you should keep it here? I can always come here if I wish to read it. If I took it with me, it would only be a matter of time before I misplaced it.
