Hello network.

[ He's got a better idea of how to use the device now, and he's actually holding it correctly. Text transcription into other languages was another skill he picked up, but being this is the quintessential English prick, Arthur sees no reason to try and communicate with those that don't speak his language. ]

Currently I'm located at-- [ A glance about. ] --err, in front of the Latimir apartments in Discedo. I have a question for those who are willing to lend their assistance: The 'monsters' that surround the area; can anyone offer anymore information regarding them? Hopefully other than those prone to shouting about rail tracers and other inanities that won't help my cause.

My second question might be more alarming, though I urge those that are listening not to be frightened by my request: I'm attempting to locate a few weapons to aid me in my... [ His eyes flit to the side. ] ...explorations.

Do not hesitate to contact me at this frequency, or to come here if you are within the area to talk. Thank you for your time.

[ Being vague on purpose? What do you mean he's being vague on purpose? ]

Only one good way to find out how dangerous something is! [ read: fight the shit out of it. ]

Hmmmm, you could always use a sword. In my experience, there's usually some lying around if you look hard enough. Might have to pry it off a skeleton, but they had their chance with it.

Precisely. However, I'd like to gather information anyway just in case I'm familiar with the beasts of the area. Some may be more benevolent than they look, and others more malevolent, of course.

A sword would be acceptable, seeing as I'm quite skilled in using one. [ A raise of the brow. ] However, seeing as it is no longer Medieval times, locating a skeleton with a spare sword might be slightly difficult. Can you offer any other suggestions?

I'm new, can't really offer up any tidbits. [ shrug. ] You should probably have a weapon on you in either case. If you're really curious, I could always test the waters first.

Swords are pretty trendy right now where I'm from! Don't diss. I don't really remember what kind of weapons my world had when it was like this. Shards of glass, maybe?

So I see. Well, that's all right like. [ A little smile. ] No, no, please. If you'd really like to have a look around, I wouldn't object to another person joining my party. [ Of him and Korea, currently. Just say no, Marceline. ]

I'm not... doing anything of the sort. I don't mean to say swords aren't useful, just that they're not used much anymore, especially since the innovation of guns and other such arsenal.

Oh yes, glass indeed. A bit crude, but a doable suggestion.

[ And miss the chance to prank Korea? Never. ] Sure, I'm not really doing anything else. Do you have a map though? I kinda have a little more trouble getting around now that I have to walk everywhere.

Guns? The kind that shoot bullets? Wow, I haven't seen anyone use one of those in years! Not exactly my tastes, but hey, whatever floats your boat. If that fails you can just stick the glass on a branch for a spear.

I don't have a map, but I've been directed to one made by someone else. Here, I'll send it to you.

[ Which of course, is Japan's programme. ]

What else would guns shoot? Marshmallows? [ A sigh. ] I might as well craft a bow and arrow. It doesn't matter; as long as I locate some type of weapon, I should be able to cope just fine with the situation. Keep in mind, this venture isn't planned for some time, of course.

Great, thanks! [ Now fiddling around with it. Stalking made easy. ]

Lasers? Not sure. Most people nowadays stick to swords and lances and stuff. And you could always get creative with your weaponry.

[ In lieu of being able to levitate, she leans back against the nearest surface and starts strumming on her bass battle axe guitar. thing. ] Or use your fists.

Just don't forget about me when you pick a date for your little excursion. The name's Marceline, by the way.

Lasers, good gracious. I'd much rather have a gun. [ A snort. ] I wouldn't dare, dear lady. A pleasure to meet you; my name is Arthur Kirkland. [ boy is it hard to bite back the 'sir' and the 'captain' i mean a british accent makes him sound pompous enough, he doesn't have to make it worse... ]

I expect it will happen within the next few weeks, [ as in, tomorrow ] and by then, I'll have assembled a team and constructed a plan. [ as in, he is also the king of wishful thinking ]

Pleasure's mine, Arthur. [ See this would be nice if she wasn't saying in one of those sweetly sinister voices you get from women in horror movies. Or like that episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark? where the nurse is chasing the sick girl around the mansion and it turns out she's just allergic to penicillin and that the nurse only had good intentions. It all ends happily. That is Marceline's life. ]

Seems like you're going through a lot of effort for this. Have a little fun with it! We're exploring, not going on a camping trip.

[identity profile] noblemen.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Except Arthur is morbid as all Hell and the avoid just ends up sounding somewhat alluring to him. Oh dear. ]

Not quite. We're doing a bit more than exploring, Marceline; we're attempting to locate an exit to this miserable existence we've been 'blessed' with. I think that's more than enough reason to plan this out.

Oh, and of course, apparently, there's a plethora of monsters to worry about out there, so.

[identity profile] rockonbones.livejournal.com 2011-11-01 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Why worry about the monsters?

[ She smiles and leans back, only to stumble and catch herself as she starts to fall. Still not used to not levitating. Definitely not looking happy at the minor slip-up, but she brushes it off. ]

An exit would be handy. I'm in no rush, but if you're desperate to get out, I've got nothing against helping! Sure beats sitting around waiting for something to happen.
