[ If getting up this morning, you thought that you might have a great day blessed with the many smiling faces of the residents of Fortuna, you were sorely, sorely mistaken. In fact, as a scowling man appears on the screen, it might occur to you to shut off your communicator before you get a wall of negativity dropped on you. ]

[ If you are one of the less fortunate few that has yet to be introduced to this one A. Kirkland, then today you will be treated to a special show, courtesy of the United Kingdom of Negative Nancys himself. ]

I don't like this place.

[ Shifting the communicator, Arthur glances behind him, then back down at the screen, still continuing to frown. ]

I've been wandering the outskirts for, God, I'm not even sure how long, and may I tell you something, dear friends? There is nothing to be found. Nothing. Bleed me if I know what attacked me the last time I went wandering, but this time, it was just a leisurely stroll on another bloody planet, that's what it was.

[ He swallows and rubs his eyes, sighing before adjusting the communicator so it is face level with him, attempting to regain an air of professionalism about him. ]

Anyway. Not what I intended to use this network for. My intentions are quite different actually; I wish to put on a play, perhaps the raise the spirits of my fellow inmates. If anyone would be interested in acting, making the sets, lighting, production or even securing a location, I would be most obliged. I have a copy of A Midsummer Night's Dream, and I'd be happy to transcribe it onto the commmunicators and send all who are interested a copy.

[ As the scowl tugs at the corners of his lips, he nods at the communicator: ] Thank you for your time, as always. [ --Before clicking it off. ]

[ Thursday. At the outskirts of Discedo. ]

[ The communicator isn't supposed to be on. At least not at first. There's breathy sigh and the viewscreen flicks on to show Arthur looking vaguely like a mummy, face bandaged, one eye swollen shut, the middle of his face wrapped with splints in place, limping through the forest and leaning against a stick while glancing down at his communicator. ]

[ Although he'd been told to sit tight by Rosemary, the second the woman decided to take a little excursion while Arthur was 'resting', he was out of the house and on the run. And by run, of course, it's implied he's limping along. He found a strong stick to lean against while exploring the forest, clumsily trying to utilise his communicator to follow the map programme. ]

[ It's only after fumbling with the device for about fifteen minutes does he notice the little thing is in fact recording, and he considers shutting it off, but some vindictive streak within him flares up and prevents him from terminating communications. ]

So you want a show? Fair enough. You'll have your bloody show.

[ Some more snuffling along. He's quiet for the next ten minutes, and by the sounds he's making, it seems like he's either making real progress in his great escape or the entire fiasco is so taxing on him he may collapse at any moment. ]

Monsters. Tch. Monsters! I told them they had nothing to worry about. America's clearly gone mad, France is a bastard, and the rest of you lot are a bunch of cowards. There's no monsters in this forest. Someone probably went out and found themselves startled by a sodding deer. Honestly, other planets, two moons, monsters, I'm tired of all this bollo-- [ And before he can finish, a ground-shaking roar rips from the throat of some gigantic thing, out of the communicator's line of sight, and though Arthur offers up no frightened glance, he does appear to be quite confused for a moment. Before that thought is completed, England is seen being lifted into the air by some giant, white furry thing, and the communicator drops to the ground with the sound of his screams echoing in the background, a healthy dose of red bathing the video feed before the communication cuts out. ]

[ Friday. At the Discedo hospital. ]

[ When he wakes, it feels vaguely like his head has been sucked through a black hole, made into a singularity and then exploded again in a big bang only to vaguely resemble the shape his head was in before. Sitting up feels somewhat akin to giving birth, and when he does manage to finally sit up, he finds his communicator is on on the beside table, (clean of blood too!), and a little figurine sitting next to it. ]

Nggg, fuckin' Hell... [ A hand to his head, and he reaches over for the communicator, but pauses, and picks up the doll, bringing it closer to him. When he speaks, it's almost as if he's speaking to the figurine. ] That wasn't my brightest idea. [ He tilts his head to the side. ] And just who put you here...

[ A full minute passes before he reaches over, blindly, and manages to shut off the communicator. ]

[ooc note: so this post is open to both video communicator and action on the 28th, though feel free to post reactions to Arthur's extremely climactic adventure on the 27th, he just won't respond to them seeing as he's being digested that day, and otherwise occupied. ]

Hello network.

[ He's got a better idea of how to use the device now, and he's actually holding it correctly. Text transcription into other languages was another skill he picked up, but being this is the quintessential English prick, Arthur sees no reason to try and communicate with those that don't speak his language. ]

Currently I'm located at-- [ A glance about. ] --err, in front of the Latimir apartments in Discedo. I have a question for those who are willing to lend their assistance: The 'monsters' that surround the area; can anyone offer anymore information regarding them? Hopefully other than those prone to shouting about rail tracers and other inanities that won't help my cause.

My second question might be more alarming, though I urge those that are listening not to be frightened by my request: I'm attempting to locate a few weapons to aid me in my... [ His eyes flit to the side. ] ...explorations.

Do not hesitate to contact me at this frequency, or to come here if you are within the area to talk. Thank you for your time.

[ Being vague on purpose? What do you mean he's being vague on purpose? ]

[ If nothing else, technology was not as mystical and magical to him as it was with a lot of the older European nations. This strange little device was something he was able to figure out to the point he could turn it on and use it, though what struck him about it is that it definitely wasn't a mobile. ]

[ Regardless, the screen flickers on and any and all who are looking on are treated to the image of a slightly disgruntled (but mostly just unimpressed) British gentleman staring back at them. ]

This is the sort of rubbish I'd expect of America. [ Motioning to the screen. ] Poor layout, small keyboard, difficult learning curve. I suppose I should be gracious I'm intelligent enough to operate this horribly engineered piece of technology.

[ The setting about him is moving, and it's clear that he's wandering, staring away from the camera every so often, distracted by the unfamiliar settings about him. ]

And whoever constructed the various complexes around me were obviously also slightly incompetent in some way. My God, this place is in shambles. I don't understand how people live like thi-- [ And then he stops, now staring straight up at the sky, seemingly disturbed by something. A hand reaches up to rub at his eyes, and then he blinks, squinting, then pulls back. ]

What in Heavens name have I been drinking, and good God where can I get more? [ The viewscreen flips, displaying a clear image of the night sky. Perhaps to any other resident of this world or even for people trapped here against their will for a while the image would appear normal, but in England's mind, two moons is not his idea of a normal October night. ]

Well. [ The screen whirls again, and he turns it back to himself. ] Assuming anyone is there watching this, some sort of official or gracious, I don't even know what, I would honestly appreciate some answers. Perhaps, if you are listening, you would even be kind enough to reveal to me where I am exactly. [ And then, bitterly. ] Unless this is just some kind of terribly elaborate recording device, and if that's the case, I'm going to feel very silly.

[ He sighs, and with that, the connection is terminated. ]
